PRBC
PRBC stands for Pay Rent Build Credit or Payment Reporting Builds Credit. PRBC is an alternative credit report and credit score company for those who pay bills like rent or utilities but do not have other credit. PRBC is no longer accessible to consumers, but all creditors that use PRBC credit reports also report consumer information to PRBC. Landlords, utilities and other companies can report consumer payments to PRBC at no cost to the company if they have or open an account with PRBC. Currently, there are only two actions consumers can take to actively build a PRBC credit report: (1) Ask your utility, landlord or insurance company if they report to PRBC. If the answer is “no,” tell the company or landlord that it is free and PRBC will take their information in any form and even pass it along to other credit bureaus for free. (2) For those who pay rent only, there is a relatively inexpensive monthly rent paying service through WilliamPaid.com that will report to PRBC. Hummingbird does not endorse bill paying services, PRBC or any other company.
