To all registered users of Hummingbird:
I'm sure that you have heard by this point that the Bankruptcy Administrators have decided not to approve Hummingbird's application for re-approval in all six districts.
It appears, based on their "investigation" and subsequent report to Hummingbird, that their audit committee was not sent to investigate but to create a report that would justify their decision to follow the EOUST lead. Their entire basis for not renewing Hummingbird was based on the relationship with our vendors. The vendor relationships that we had allowed Hummingbird to reduce risk on the organization by outsourcing many services that we could not afford full time personnel to perform. We made the commitment to the audit committee to remove those vendor relationships for everything outside of the software licensing and leasing of our building in order to show our independence. The audit committee did not even include those comments in the report to the BAs. In addition to misquoting board members in the report, the auditors also made statements that show they lack understanding of basic business principles and even their own system.
Unfortunately, on September 12, 2015, we will no longer be able to offer counseling and financial education testing. We will be working extra hard until that time to help finalize as many consumers as you send through. Please encourage your clients to complete their counseling and education requirements as quickly as possible. New clients are welcome as well as long as they are able to complete their counseling and education by September 11, 2015.
We will be changing our customer service hours to 9 am-5 pm eastern time in order to free up resources to utilize in processing new and finalized certificates. After hours, please use firstname.lastname@example.org for the fastest response. While not monitored 24/7, this email is monitored beyond normal service hours and will likely result in a faster response after regular business hours.
We will retain all certificates, and they will remain valid for 180 days from the date the course was completed. We encourage all registered users to finalize and obtain their client's completed sessions prior to September 12th. After that date, our servers will be taken offline and certificates will be provided upon request by email through the Hummingbird website at email@example.com.
Any requests for fee waivers must be submitted prior to September 13, 2015, in order to be processed. We will process a final billing and issue statements on September 15, 2015. After we have completed this final billing, we will be deleting all registered user agreements and billing information for those accounts that are not delinquent.
I personally want to thank those of you who have stayed with Hummingbird through these difficult past few months. We value you as customers and hope for the best for you in the future.
